Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Automation QA Engineer with solid experience in API Testing, particularly using Java, Rest Assured, Postman, and Cucumber BDD. The ideal candidate will work on automation testing for a high-performance e-commerce platform, contributing to the testing of microservices and event-driven architectures.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Java (minimum 3–4 years)
- Expertise in API Testing (minimum 3–4 years)
- Solid experience with Rest Assured and POSTMAN
- Experience with Cucumber BDD for unit testing
- Familiarity with microservices testing and RESTful APIs
- Exposure to Event-Driven Architecture (EDA)
- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools
- Good knowledge of Agile methodologies and test-driven development
- Working knowledge of Git and bug tracking tools
- Ability to estimate testing effort and timelines effectively
Desired Skills
- Experience testing Microservice Architectures
- Exposure to performance testing tools like K6, JMeter, LoadRunner
- Experience using mocking tools like Mockito, WireMock, or Microcks
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust API automation test suites
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure quality coverage
- Participate in test planning, execution, and reporting
- Identify and isolate defects, and work with developers for resolution
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices and frameworks
- Ensure CI/CD pipelines are effectively integrated with testing automation
- Document test cases, results, and maintain traceability
- Proactively suggest improvements for performance, stability, and scalability
